When the time for transition has come to the incarnated soul--the exact moment of which is determined and initiated by the Higher Self--the physical seed-atom which contains the soul-plan of the Higher Self, releases certain information to the endocrine glands via the blood stream to stimulate the death process. The glands then secrete certain substances that Earlyne Chaney calls the "death hormone." This hormone then circulates around the physical system releasing the immaterial aspect from the physical. The mental, astral and etheric bodies dissociate themselves from the physical body, followed by the seed-atoms. The first to be affected and released is the mental seed-atom. As it leaves the physical body, the mental records of the soul and consciousness goes along with it. This is in fact the commencement of the bardo, of which no soul can avoid experiencing, even in a sudden impact of death.

Once the mental seed-atom escapes from the physical system, the physical body falls into a coma. Although the physical body still reacts to external stimuli, there is no registration in the consciousness of the soul through the brain. Next to be liberated from the physical body is the astral seed-atom. With the absence of the astral seed-atom, the physical body lies inert and senseless. The departure of the physical seed-atom marks the beginning of clinical death. Its disappearance from the physical body causes the dissolution and disintegration of the physical form. In the above process no pain is involved, for the absence of the mental seed-atom prevents any sensation to be noted in the consciousness. Also, the "death hormone" anesthetizes the whole physical system. Any death struggle or spasms to be seen in the dying merely reflects the release of the components of the soul and the physical body's straining to prevent its departure. As a person is about to leave the physical, the astral body increases in luminosity, even in the case of sudden deaths.

All of the seed-atoms as they leave the physical body, are transferred to the astral form. With the transference of the mental seed-atom, the consciousness of the soul gradually awakens in the astral state and experiences the bardo. Once the bardo is undergone, the soul, the awareness-principle in average cases, is greeted by advance beings and earth-relatives who have prepared beforehand for the arrival of the soul. This we know personally having had psychic contacts when our dad was undergoing the dying process. The dying are often instilled peace with the help of music played by the disembodied spirits.

The departure of every soul from the physical plane is known by spiritual beings, and preparation is always made for their reception in the astral world. Even while journeying in the bardo the soul is often aided by spiritual guides. Divine guides in the higher planes helping the newly dead is a common belief among ancient Egyptians.

When the physical seed-atom leaves the physical form and transfers itself to the astral body, the sutratma, the silver cord, snaps and recoils to the physical form where it infuses itself into the bones of the body. Imbued with the qualities or magnetism of the personality of the soul, the sutratma, as it recoils to the bones, impregnates the skeletal structure with the vibrations of the soul. The bones, therefore, acquire a magical quality, especially if the departed soul was a mystic or saint of a high caliber. This occult principle is well known among shamans of various cultures who often utilize bones of revered men as implements as ceremonial magicians would use their consecrated wands as tools of their will. We personally possess such a magickal object, a very ancient trisula, part of which is made by a human bone.

During the above process of soul-transference, or transition, the awareness-principle undergoes the bardo, as we have said before. Since we will be considering the bardo at some length in a later section of this paper, we will now deal, instead, with the nature of the after-death state.

Once soul-transference has been completed and the bardo experienced, the astral form drifts to the realm or region in the astral or mental world where it will sojourn for a time. The etheric body, is however, still connected with the physical form through a remnant of the sutratma. It dissolves simultaneously with the physical body. With the absence of the higher principles, the etheric body, like the physical form, is but an empty shell, and it may somehow be galvanized into some resemblance of life by astral entities using the life-force borrowed from incarnated beings. Some forms of vampirism is also related to the etheric body. Corpses remaining fresh in their graves is the result of a vital etheric body animated by some intelligence maintaining subsistence through the act of vampirism.

Possessing some psychological traits and memory of its former occupant, the etheric form is often used by malicious entities to deceive and mislead living relatives and persons through channels, psychics and mediums. It is for this reason that cremation, from the occult point of view, is often seen as a spiritual necessity and a psychically sanitary method for disposing physical remains. It prevents the occurrence of negative phenomena such as obsession and possession. In burial grounds, the etheric body may often be seen as bluish lights hovering buried bodies; these are often mistaken for ghosts or human spirits--the correct term for these are phantoms.

In ancient Egypt, the desire for preserving the etheric body may underlie the practice of mummification. Like the bones of a deceased person, the etheric body is also often used for occult and magical purposes--usually necromancy or sciomancy, which are forms of divination. This is usually done with the use of the shedding of blood where it attracts the shades, the etheric forms of the dead used not by its former occupant, but by elemental or elementary spirits. Blood, as a medium of the life-force, is an energy source sought after by malicious or mischievous spirits. With the presence of blood such spirits find it possible to be fully aware of the physical plane and materialize and converse with material beings; and also possible to satisfy certain base desires.

We mentioned before that the soul, the awareness-principle, gravitates to the realm most suited for it in terms of vibration. Mercy does not automatically lead a soul to heaven. A soul's personality determines where it would go. If the nature of the soul is of a low type, it will find itself in one of the lower astral regions which corresponds to the religious concept of hell. High-natured souls will be drawn to the high astral worlds or to the mental mansions. Swedenborg speaks of this in his book, "Heaven and Hell":

"It ought to be clearly understood that with the angels [souls] it is their interiors which cause them to be in one heaven or another. For, the more their interiors are open towards the Lord, the more interior is the heaven in which they are." (1958:16)

Here Swedenborg says that souls enter the type of heaven that corresponds with the quality of the inner heaven within them. This spiritual principle is a known law among occultists. Cornelius Agrippa in the Three Books of Occult Philosophy, has this to say about the reward of lofty souls:

"But the spirit of man, which is of a sacred nature, and divine offspring, because it is always faultless, becomes incapable of any punishment; but the soul of it hath done well, rejoiceth together with the spirit, and going forth with its aerial chariot [astral body], passeth freely to the graves of the heroes, or reacheth heaven, where it enjoys all its senses, and powers, a perpetual blessed felicity, a perfect knowledge of all things, as also the divine vision, and possession of the kingdom of heaven, and being made partaker of the divine power bestows freely divers gifts upon these inferiors, as if it were an immortal god . . ." (1995:594)

He goes on to say that the soul of a negative nature is left to the pleasure of the "devil":

"Wherefore then this soul being void of an intelligible essence and being left to the power of a furious planetary, is ever subjected by the torment of corporeal qualities." (1995:594)

Agrippa alludes here to hell or purgatory. Should there be coarse material in the astral form as a result of negative habits, negative patterns of thoughts and desires, the soul sojourns temporarily in purgatory before transmigrating to its rightful place in the heavenly regions. Purgatory is a transitional plane of human souls of various natures and types; for instance, there are those bound there because of their unrealistic religious concepts, and they linger in purgatory until they accept the truth concerning the spiritual laws governing the higher spheres. There are those also stuck in purgatory until certain habits or desires are overcome. Atheists and intellectuals likewise find themselves in purgatory for a time. Attachment to earthly wealth, position, and power may also be a cause of bondage to purgatory.

In purgatory the soul strives to rid itself of its moral, mental and emotional defects; and also the effects of its physical and sensual indulgences, as well as those sensual desires itself. In Hindu and Buddhist mythology, these souls in purgatory are called Pretas, or "hungry ghosts." Until the astral form has reached the required degree of purification, the soul would find it uncomfortable to live anywhere else in the astral plane. Purgatory is said to resemble the earth plane's slums and ghetto areas.

The author of this paper once had an interesting experience in one of the lower astral regions in which he was directed to counsel souls who were kleptomaniacs. Although not informed as to the nature of the inhabitants of the realm, certain events such as personal objects carried on our astral person at that time which was suddenly amiss made us realize the common problem of those souls living there. Those souls were stuck in purgatory because of their thieving tendencies, and we were there to help them realize and give up their negative habit. Bad habits and desires follow us in the afterlife and they cause us intense suffering--the result of being unable to completely satiate, gratify, or fulfill them. It is for this reason that negative habits and desires should be extinguished, or at least transmuted in the here and now, in the physical plane. Before entering purgatory, a soul may be given a glimpse of the astral heavens so as to awaken its aspirations, its desires to improve its condition and soul-estate. When the soul is dissatisfied with mundane and carnal things in the lower astral and when it aspires for something better, it commences to purify its astral body of the lower particles, and suddenly it finds itself within a higher sphere.

Souls that are psychologically unsound or mentally and emotionally disturbed are brought to healing centers in purgatory for the restoration of harmony among their soul-vehicles. Souls with crystallized minds and are mentally imprisoned by preconceived ideas concerning life after death are likewise brought to healing centers for de-hypnotization, or rehabilitation. Souls that led violent lives fall into suspended animation for a lengthy period of time. This enforced unconsciousness is therapeutic in nature, it is a period of soul-healing. These souls are awakened from time to time to determine its attitude--whether it feels guilt or repents of its negative deeds. If not, it is once again tranquilized.

When ignorant of the existence of the higher spheres, souls in purgatory and in the hell regions are often shown, by guiding souls, of the splendour and glory of the upper regions of the astral and mental worlds. Souls are no more intelligent or knowledgeable in the astral as they were in the physical. Ignorance in the physical concerning Truth and Reality are brought along with them in the discarnate state. Opinions are maintained. Souls, therefore, see and experience what they have learnt to believe. Such "lost souls" are shown the way of ascension to the higher worlds.

The astral body is plastic-like in nature and it normally reflects the nature of the soul within. Souls with negative tendencies and evil traits assume forms with facial features reflective of its nature. They may take on the appearance of misshapen, grotesque, and monstrous forms. Conversely, souls with positive, clean, and pure natures take on angelic forms. The higher the quality and nature of the soul, the more beautiful and scintillating its appearance. Even the clothings worn by souls reflects the inner state. Referring to this principle Swedenborg declares:

". . . all the interior affections appear and shine forth from the face." (1958:22)

He also relates the mystery of soul-appearance of evil persons:

". . . and wonderful to tell, those in hell appear to one another as men, but in the light of heaven they appear as monsters, horrid in face and body, the exact form of their own evil." (1958:66)

Among Chinese and Tibetan beliefs is that souls could reincarnate as animals. Considering the principle mentioned above, we can come to appreciate some truth in this concept. Men with animal characteristics do reflect their animal nature in their astral-forms.

Through death the mind retains the same personality, habits, traits, character and inclinations, and this is known through one's appearance. It is through the facial appearance, the quality of the clothings worn, and the luminosity and colours of the aura of the soul that the degree of evolution of the soul may be determined. Some beings are so radiant, that it hurts to look at them. We would probably shield our eyes with our hands to protect our sight from the glare--this gesture could almost be interpreted as a salute--a sign of honor and respect to those beings. These souls are bearers of Light, Life and Love. Their presence heals and vitalizes the younger souls. Overthere, in the astral and mental worlds, everyone sees us for what we really are, including ourselves. Though we may be "somebody" in the physical world, in the astral worlds we may be just another "person." In the higher worlds, our true character stands revealed. There is nothing of our private thoughts, feelings and character that we can hide. We are an opened book that reveals our inner selves to others around us. Again quoting Swedenborg:

". . . an angel who excels in wisdom instantly sees the quality of another from his face." (1958:22)

Only virtues, good thoughts, deeds, and a search for Truth confers beauty of appearance. In the higher worlds we will discover the fact that thoughts are things. What we think manifests and affects us almost immediately without any time interval.

Those with pre-conceptions regarding heaven, such as religious devotees, will experience the type of heaven of their expectations. These various heavenly conditions, however, are illusions. They exist temporarily as dramas played on the behalf of the newly-arrived soul for the purpose of teaching spiritual lessons, such as the errors of pre-conceived ideas. The dramas are sometimes played by negative beings with non-benevolent motive. These dramas last until the soul awakens to the fact that its concept of heaven as experienced, hardly reflects the true reality, state, and nature of the mansions of the Cosmos; or conversely, it could entrap him even further. The former condition is brought home when certain events occur in their personal "heaven" which indicates the artificiality of their paradise. For instance, a soul conceiving heaven to be one where its inhabitants wear wings and halos, and play on the harp and sing hymns for all eternity will experience just that . . . until ennui sets in, and voices begin to get hoarse, and harp strings begins to burst, and halos begin to fall, and wings begin to molt . . . In reference to these dramas in the astral dimensions, Torkom Saraydarian comments in The Science of Meditation:

"Once you enter into it, you see that many colorful events are rapidly forming and dissolving according to your unnamed urges, aspirations, thoughts, and volitions, which are in continuous change and motion and in various intensities. All you see is the response of your astral substance, which mirrors your desires, urges, dreams, and mental modifications. The comic part of this is that you do not realize that whatever you see or experience is your creation, your own expression, which sometimes becomes the vehicle of astral entities who perform an illusive play or comedy to englamour and trap you even more." (1993:208)

In the various astral and higher planes, the soul occupies some of its time analyzing its past life and the assimilation of its experience. This introspection is often done with the assistance of spiritual guides and group discussions. In the heavenly worlds the soul finds time to do and to learn the things that it always wanted to without being bothered by the necessities of earning a daily living. There are Halls of Wisdom and Temples of Learning in all branches of the arts and sciences, including the science of creation. In these schools the soul learns the purpose of life, the laws of the spiritual planes and how it may function effectively therein in its higher vehicles. The potential and expressions of one's creativity are also taught. Generally, the average soul will spend its time studying and serving others, with intervals of relaxation and play.

In the astral state one discovers that it is unnecessary to eat or to drink to nourish the astral form. Nourishment occurs through spiritual osmosis. The astral form automatically absorbs the life-giving energy-fluid flowing through the astral ethers. This could be done physically as well, but it requires intense spiritual training to reach this level. Streams and fountains of energy are to be found in the higher heavens. Muslims call them Salsabil. A dip in them also vitalizes the whole spiritual constitution.

There are several modes of locomotion available to the inhabitants of the heavenly worlds. There are vehicles to convey one from place to place. One may also choose to walk or to use the astral body's innate capability to fly. This latter mode of travel requires some mastery though, however, once mastered, it offers one of the most convenient methods of mobilization. Once settled in the higher astral, the soul does not possess the ability to view or manifest in the earth plane unless it has acquired the occult ability to do so. Generally speaking, it is not possible for the soul to visit the higher worlds beyond its soul-level because of the intense fiery vibrations emanating from those worlds. Journeying to lower worlds, however, is much more easily accomplished.

Communication in the subtle worlds is done mainly through telepathy, although sometimes normal speech is used. The utilization of telepathy means that every soul understands every other soul eventhough in physical terms there may be a language barrier. For instance, through the means of telepathy it is possible for an Englishman to understand an Italian, and vice versa. One also eventually learns to communicate through colours and sounds, these being universal languages. There is, however, a phenomenon that should be noted and expressed clearly by Swedenborg:

". . . the angels of a lower heaven cannot speak with those of a higher heaven. In fact when they look towards them, they do not see them, the higher heavens appearing like a mist over their heads. Angels of a higher heaven, however, can see those in a lower heaven . . ." (1958:100)

Buyers Being Creative In A Soft Real Estate Market With A Challenged Credit History

The stars have lined up against many would be buyers with the amount of baggage they bring to the table in the way of challenged credit. They want to buy something. They need to buy something. Whether it be a recent bankruptcy, repossession, foreclosure, large medical bill collections, identity theft or judgements or recent unemployment any one of which can plummet a credit score and put the would be buyer in a financial hole. In a soft real estate market where owners need to sell and have a high degree of motivation to dispose of their property. This is the opportunity that a buyer with challenged credit history can seek to help a seller out of their current dilemma by arranging sale terms that will help both buyer and seller. These scenarios may not work for anyone who has zero options, zero income and zero means to pay anything back. It is rather, for those who are fighting their way back and do have options, have income and now have means to meet their obligations on a negotiated deal. This will not work if a buyer throws their hands up and gives up to the possibility of buying a property. This opportunity will work for those buyers who have a need as well as a burning desire in their belly to buy something that will meet their family goals and will do what is necessary to make it happen.

A buyer needs to be aggressive in their efforts to take advantage of this temporary real estate market. Some areas of the country have more opportunities than other areas. However, there are deals in every area. A buyer needs to find them. There is little reward for a buyer to deal with an unmotivated seller. There must be pressure on the seller to move the property. Whether it be for reasons of health, estate situation, job loss, divorce, out of state move, downsizing, upsizing, budget, cash flow or other reasons if a buyer with checkered credit has a shot of doing something. A buyer early on will need to come to the conclusion that the chance of matching the perfect house with the perfectly motivated seller will be slim. Therefore, from the get go the buyer must be willing to compromise on the purchase. The buyer must realize that this is not the last home they will buy, it is the first home they will buy with a high degree of challenged credit. The buy decision, although well thought out, must recognize the purchase is not permanent and is not fatal. It is simply a means to get into a property and get on the equity accumulation train, which will help them over time. So the search begins to find a motivated seller while being somewhat flexible while not having unreasonable expectations that will not fly with the current credit circumstances.

Buyers can try to do it themselves or choose to bring in a professional realtor who knows the market. Right now a lot of realtors have a lot of time on their hands. Six months ago when the market was raging, that was not the case. What a difference a day makes. The criteria then on a broad based approach would be to find a vacant home, on a realtor lock box, with a lower mortgage balance and with a high seller motivational to move the property. If a property is not listed, then the seller may not be motivated enough for a buyers purposes. They are not serious enough. If a property has had three or four price reductions in the last few months in the Multiple Listing Service this would be a sign of a motivated seller. Likewise if a seller has indicated a willingness to pay for buyers closing costs, hold a second mortgage, consider a lease option or a lease purchase, these are all signs of the degree of seller motivation necessary for a buyer with challenged credit to find a workable property. Early on in the realtor selection process, a working relationship must be established with a realtor who is willing to make multiple offers and does not take rejection personally until an acceptable deal can be negotiated.

At the same time, a mortgage broker will need to be contacted to determine exactly what is possible in the way of a first mortgage. Banks are not geared to do what will be required to make a deal with challenged credit. It will be assumed that in spite of the past history, the buyer now can make a monthly mortgage payment and may even have some cash to work with. Cash can be gifted from parents or other sources if necessary. The results of the mortgage broker interview will dictate what and how the deal will need to be structured. Pulling credit will determine if the housing history is 0 x 30 (meaning no housing payments more than 30 days late in the last twelve months) or worse. Collections, judgements, repossessions or any other adverse challenge the buyer may face will be noted. From this exercise, a buyer will have a payment number in hand for their monthly housing expense including principal and interest, taxes and insurance and perhaps a maintenance fee (as found in an association or condo) all inclusive in the monthly housing expense. The mortgage broker and realtor will need to work in tandem to structure the deal that is achievable on part of the buyer. Many times, in the market place the deal is negotiated without any thought to the financing. Here it will be necessary to fix the financing first THEN find the house. Most buyers with a 580 score or better can get a 95% Loan To Value first that allows a 100% Combined Loan To Value. This will no doubt be a subprime type loan with the first being one loan with no Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI). An offer might look like something like this:

Purchase price would be at say $225,000 with a 95% LTV first mortgage of $213,750 and allow a 5% LTV seller held second of $11,250. The rate on the first would be for this scenario 8.5% on the first and aggressively negotiate the same for the seller held second or less. A seller may rationalize that they were going to reduce the price another $10,000 in 30 days anyway and this way I get most of their cash now. Following then, the first mortgage of $213,750 with a rate of 8.5% with payments on a 2-year fixed ARM of $1,643.55/month. The second of $11,250 at say 8% on a 10 year basis would be $135.95/month for a total principal payment of the first and second of $1,779.50/month plus taxes of $300/month and insurance of $220/month for a total housing expense of $2,299.50/month in housing expense. With a subprime loan, collections and such are not included in the debt service calculation if they are old enough. So for a working couple if the lender allows a 50% debt ratio to income the minimum income on a full documented loan would be $2,299.50/. 50 = $4,599/month. Say the wife makes $3,000 per month and the husband makes $1,599/month then they would just make it. The seller would need to pay all the buyers closing costs and prepaids (tax and insurance escrows and advanced fees) and any buyer cash can be used for monthly lender reserve requirements.

In summary then, this is a temporary buyers market in most areas and to be successful buyers need to focus on motivated sellers. Even before looking at any property the sellers agent must be interviewed to determine if there is a high motivation of selling the property by paying all the buyers closing costs and prepaids and perhaps hold a 2nd mortgage. If there isnt, the buyer should not be looking at that property. If the buyer has a vacant lot, a small mortgage note, income property or anything of value like a boat or motorcycle can all be brought to bear on a deal. The barter and trading process is how America was built. Working in tandem with a professional realtor and a mortgage broker a buyer can enlist some professional help to meet the needs of their family even with challenged credit. It is not a static situation. During the first two or three years of this scenario the buyers need to put their financial house in order through family budgeting and planning with discipline to qualify for a better rate and terms on their mortgage and other credit needs for their families future. Inside the Uranium Markets Secret World

Mired in secrecy, the uranium market hopes to someday offer price transparency. To whom will this real uranium price become transparent? Industry insiders know well before the general investing public ever finds out.

Utility fuel managers compete with a few handfuls of fuel brokers for the best price break. Utilities complain about the unwelcome speculators whove entered the market. and utility spokesman predict a long-term price about one-half of the US$122/pound price indicator announced in Nuclear Market Review this past Friday (another consulting service chose $125/pound for their price indicator). Some uranium miners forecast a price racing past $200/pound. Who is gaming whom? Or is this all part of the negotiations process between producers and end-users?

Meanwhile, more immediate price transparency seems to appear at Mestenas regular spot uranium price auctions than in the much larger, but secretive uranium marketplace. Yet, the amount this private uranium producer has sold is far less than one percent of the uranium consumed in 2006. The present spread between spot and long-term uranium pricing has raised eyebrows and led some to question the credibility of the spot price.

Mestenas next auction reportedly takes place on May 30th, or at least thats when offers to buy the U3O8 are due. This time Mestena will have a bit of competition. An unnamed hedge fund has contacted potential buyers to solicit offers for 200 thousand pounds U3O8 and 100 metric tons U as UF6 two days after Mestena opens the magic envelopes. As more material is offered to the market, perhaps the spot and long-term price will narrow to a more logical spread. Perhaps, instead, this spread will close when utilities and investors reach a consensus on Cameco Corps (CCJ) Cigar Lake project, Rio Tintos (RTP) Namibian expansion and resolution of the March flooding in northern Australia, and a firm date on BHP Billitons (BHP) Olympic Dam expansion.

A Glimpse Inside This Secret World

The widely heralded fiat uranium trading at the highly publicized NYMEX ring moves forward, but the exchange is still searching for participants, and it is about as entertaining as watching grass grow. In lower Manhattan, this commodity exchange was not only the first commodity forum to offer trading on platinum more than 40 years ago, but in early May began offering paper uranium trading. The public can play the paper chase, but not for the real McCoy U3O8.

In mid-town Manhattan, near Grand Central Station, a lesser known commodity exchange, run by New York Nuclear, has real-time screen trading every Wednesday morning between 7:30 A.M. and 9:30 A.M. And the screen trading is for the real thing the physical delivery of U3O8. The processed uranium is offered for delivery within a 30-day period at a licensed uranium conversion facility. Real product trading in real-time by real professionals, who mine uranium, consume uranium or act as a broker for either side.

No, the public is not invited to this clubby function. One must be a certified market participant to bid for or sell U3O8 through New York Nuclears Uranium Online. While NYMEX paper trading is open to amateurs and professional traders, Uranium Online only permits recognized persons to bid or offer uranium for sale.

We have all categories as players, New York Nuclears Joe McCourt told StockInterview.com. Those who have signed up to trade physical uranium on his online screen system include uranium producers, hedge funds, fuel brokers and utility fuel managers. These are the major players in the physical uranium market, McCourt added.

Our chat with Joe McCourt was quite enlightening. Later in an email exchange with Uranium One (SXRFF) chief executive Neal Froneman, we were told Joe is a heck of a nice guy. Others in the industry echoed his sentiments.

In a few words, Joe explained why uranium price transparency is presently out of reach, and could remain a mythical goal for some time. Theres so few players in the business, and theres a lot of confidentiality, McCourt told StockInterview. Everybody wants to see what everybody else does, but they dont want anybody to see what they do.

McCourt has also observed this secrecy in his companys online screen system trading of physical uranium. Everybody wants to see everybody elses posts, but they dont want to post themselves, he told us.

Surrounded by this degree of secrecy and the recent NYMEX competition, why does McCourt persist? In my opinion, I think that utilities want transparency, he told us. We want to improve how the market works.

So who participates in the weekly trading sessions? These are people we know to be bonafide buyers and sellers, McCourt said. And what makes these bonafide? We are in touch with the major players. Weve been in the business for 25 years, and weve done deals with many people. We know who is for real and who is not for real. (See Joe McCourt end bio.)

How does McCourt screen out the gamers? We have user agreements, rules and procedures that everybody signs, he told us. Its a contract. When anybody posts something in the system, its a like valid offer. They make a commitment.

Do the buyers and sellers know with whom they are dealing? No, its anonymous, McCourt said. Only we know. We stand as the hub. They can see us, but they cant see each other. McCourt reassured us his system has kept permanent records of all transactions and discussions during those trading sessions. We have a system that is auditable, if some authority comes to us, he said.

Another concern was his companys participation in the trading. We dont do it on our own account, McCourt told us. We are strictly brokers. We are matching buyers and sellers. Its our reputation thats on the line.

Prior to participation in the online trading, everyone on the system is sent a possible counterparty list. Those companies who have had bad relationships in the past can strike off parties with whom they will not do business. People are very concerned about credit, McCourt explained. You dont want to sign a deal with someone you dont like their credit, or you dont think they are a reliable supplier. He further explained that risk departments are very involved with procurement these days and companies are very careful about their counterparts.

What are the bugs in McCourts system? Most material is bought and sold under long-term contracts, he said. Theres not a long of activity in the spot market. We are trying to help more activity develop in the spot market by making it easier for people to do deals, having certain delivery times and delivery locations. In other words, McCourt hope to standardize the secondary market.

But why is there only one two-hour trading session per week? Theres not a lot of liquidity in this market, McCourt responded. We picked two hours once a week to concentrate on this. Otherwise, its like watching paint dry.

New York Nuclear has only completed one transaction since launching this late last year. Why? For large companies, this is something new, he explained. It has to go through reviews, legal reviews, risk management reviews and all that. Its a departure from what they normally do. In other conversations weve had with utilities and industry insiders, this is the problem NYMEX faces in drawing utilities into trading on their exchange.

Still, McCourts action impacted NYMEX trading this past week. After screen trading was completed last Wednesday, the NYMEX June 2007 U3O8 uranium swap suddenly dropped. During the previous week, McCourts screen snapshot, published in his Thursday night edition of FreshFUEL showed June 2007 uranium at $122 and December uranium at $130. This past Wednesday, uranium for December delivery dropped to $125/pound.

No transactions took place. But, it does confirm that buyers would be willing to pay $122 to $125/pound to purchase U3O8 for June and December delivery. Sellers refused to part with their material. Five days later, Ux Consulting raised the firms weekly spot price indicator to $125/pound. Obviously, TradeTech decided on the front-month and made the judgment call of $122 in this Friday edition of Nuclear Market Review, while Ux Consulting decided upon Decembers delivery month price.

As a fuel broker, which is New York Nuclears main business, McCourt said, As far as spot volume is concerned, I dont think anyone knows everything thats going on. He pointed out his company has been doing transactions off the screens. We dont publicize those transactions, he told us. And true to his word, McCourt did not reveal the pricing on his companys transactions.

McCourt hopes he can grow his online trading business by attracting more buyers and sellers to post on his screen system. We are helping the buyers and sellers get together so eventually these screens will be populated with a lot of numbers, and hopefully a lot of transactions. McCourt also pointed out, Thats going to add tremendous transparency to this market, which doesnt exist to a great extent now. He hopes utility buyers can make routine, small purchases instead of infrequent large purchases. Instead of buying one million pounds every year, they could buy 20,000 pounds every week, McCourt said.

Conclusion

Over the past year, the combination of a sharp uranium price rise accompanied by the entry of new uranium producers has probably obscured price transparency instead of providing more transparency.

Aside from finding out why there is now a $37/pound spread between the spot and long-term contract price for U3O8, we have one significant unanswered question. At which levels are the escalating floor prices for the recent contracts announced for the near-term U3O8 production by companies such as Paladin Resources (PALAF) and Uranium One? Until we gain a better understanding of these floor prices, we may not realistically have price transparency.

In the interim, investors and traders can have some glimpse of price transparency but only for short-term trading purposes. In a previous article, we evaluated some of the available market research tools available to the sophisticated investor. http://stockinterview.com/journal.html

Lets put this into a linear timeline for better understanding.

The first company out of the box with any indication of where the uranium market could head during the current week and into the early part of the following week is New York Nuclear. Wednesdays screen trading includes utility fuel managers, fuel brokers, utility risk managers and other buyers, who square off for two hours, early Wednesday morning, against their counterparts. These could include other fuel brokers, uranium producers or their marketing managers, hedge funds and speculators. To date, price indications are provided as to what buyers could be willing to pay for U3O8 purchases, and at which prices sellers wont part with their material.

Granted, little transaction activity has taken place on the Uranium Online trading screens, but the activity during those screen trading sessions provides some price guidance. On Thursday night, Washington Nuclear (sister company of New York Nuclear) emails the weekly edition of FreshFUEL to paid subscribers. In the past two issues weve reviewed, a screen shot is provided on Page 2. The companys tutorial can be found on its website at www.uranium.com.

Late Friday night each week, TradeTech publishes changes in the spot price in Nuclear Market Review. TradeTech interviews its proprietary list of market participants on Friday afternoon and gathers new data not reported in FreshFUEL. Because the market participants in the Wednesday screen sessions are mostly North American and European, TradeTech may obtain new data or find out about off-screen transactions post-Wednesdays screen trading. A new weekly spot price is reported on TradeTechs website at www.uranium.info

Every two weeks, Platts Nuclear Fuel is published for the nuclear industry. In the May 21st edition, one of three front page headlines reported, Two uranium auctions expected to push U price up. Spot price transactions, according to traders Platts interviewed, were expected to reach between $120 and $140/pound U3O8. Because Platts emails its newsletter to paid subscribers on Friday before TradeTech issues its weekly spot price, Platts subscribers get the old price.

Sometime on late Monday, Ux Consulting reports its spot uranium price to paid subscribers. On a few occasions there have been negligible discrepancies between the UxC price and the TradeTech weekly spot price. Late Tuesday, non-UxC subscribers find out this consulting firms price indicator.

The next day, on early Wednesday morning a new cycle begins when New York Nuclear conducts the next session of its screen trading.

For all the hoopla, little uranium price transparency has taken place with NYMEX futures. Ux Consulting president Jeff Combs announced it would take about six months or so to develop. Its the or so part we believe may take longer than Mr. Combs expects. In the way of an apology, NYMEX suggested this tiny amount of trading was what was expected.

NYMEX faces the same hurdles New York Nuclear has yet to overcome. Risk management departments at utilities question whether or not they will participate in these futures. Of those weve had conversations with, we are told, We are still studying this.

Between New York Nuclears Wednesday screen trading of physical uranium (as opposed to paper trading) and TradeTechs weekly report on the spot uranium price, we obtain some guidance as to the direction of the uranium market.

But this only provides short term visibility. Until the long-term uranium price and the spot price narrow the spread, and until price transparency comes about from the escalating floor contracts, the general public will remain in the dark.

A real solution would come from physical uranium trading on a grand scale, as Joe McCourt envisions, instead of the fiat trading now taking place.

40 Boxcars and Their Different Types

Modelers of HO trains model after specific railroad periods of the United States and Canada. From almost the onset of American railroads the 40 foot boxcar has been in existence. It began to disappear from the railroads in the 1960s.

Refrigeration was changing from the old ice method to the modern thermal air-condition cars that were self cooling. Also, the 40 footer was beginning to be too small. The larger 50 & 60 footers were taking over and they even experimented with 86 foot boxcars. The big railroads wanted to haul more goods and reduce the tonnage they had to haul. It took 125 40 foot boxcars to equal 100 50 foot boxcars. The reduction would be 25 less 40 foot boxcars times their empty gross wait.

This was certainly an advantage for the railroads let alone the maintenance of the smaller boxcar. With this in mind the majority of the model railroaders I know still prefer the 40 foot boxcar. They like the era from the late 1920s though the early 1960s. They are also very colorful and interesting. Many of these nostalgic colorfully designed boxcars are gone unless they might be in a railroad museum. There were so many different designs and logos to see.

The hobbyist still has the opportunity to find many of these colorful boxcars that are manufactured by several model railroad producers of freight cars. Some examples are Kadee, Intermountain, Athearn/Athearn Genesis, Accurail, Bachmann, Walthers, Red Caboose, Bowser, Roundhouse (Roundhouse is now makes only the pre twentieth century cars), Branchline, Life-Like, etc. There are several more that sell kit form freight cars as do some of the aforementioned companies. You can even get wood kits but they are not common.

Now for the types of 40 foot boxcars there are more than you may possibly think. The types of construction and usage varied. It all depended where the railroad was mainly located and types of products, food and perishables that were being shipped. From perishables, staples (wheat, Corn, Barley, Soy, etc.), equipment that needed to be enclosed, parts, manufacturing equipment that was relative small and the manufacturer did not want the tools and or equipment dinged by flying debris, ice, snow and heavy rain, and typical Midwestern hail storms.

Typically soft goods like flour, sugar, fruit, dairy products, and processed meats were hauled in 40 foot reefers. These boxcars are smaller in size than the standard 40 footer. The majority of these reefers were wood as were most of the other types of 40 foot boxcars. This changed however, as time went on to metal reefers.

There are multiple types of 40 foot steel boxcars. There are the following types:

40 Superior Door Boxcar; 40 Double Door Boxcar; 40 Ribbed Boxcar; 40 Modern Boxcar; 40 Express Boxcar; 1937 AAR 40 Boxcar; 40 12 Panel Boxcar; 40 AAR Modified Boxcar; 40 PS-1 Boxcar; 40 Boxcar w/Youngstown Doors; 40 Double-Door Boxcar; 40 High-Cube Boxcar; 40 Ribbed Boxcar; 40 Steel Boxcar w/6 Panel Doors; 40 Steel & Wood Ice Bunker Reefers; 40 Steel & Wood Boxcar. This includes several types of 40 stock cars.

In all they all had a specific purpose for the railroad as well as the user. Many of the reefers were labeled with the name of the product and producer of the goods being carried. There was Rath Black Hawk Meats, Swift, Carnation Dairy Products, Needham Meats, and major carriers such as Pacific Fruit Express. The Pacific Fruit Express Company (PFE) owned the largest number of reefer cars of any of the different reefer users. Union Pacific owned the second largest number of PFE reefers and pulled more reefers than any other railroad during that period of the 40 Boxcar/Reefer era.

As time has gone on the boxcar has almost disappeared from the railroads. However, the need for boxcars has now become critical. The Piggy Back and Double Stack Containers is not necessarily the means needed for some goods. The boxcar may indeed have a come back on the railroads of today.

With the prices of gasoline going higher and higher, its not unusual for all of us to search out some fuel saving techniques most of the ones I have found are simple for any one to apply to their every day driving.

1. Always try to drive the speed limit. Did you know that for every 5 mph you travel over 60 mph, you are decreasing your fuel economy by 6%.

2. Try not to let your car sit idling for any length of time. According to Fueleconomy.gov the average driver will waste 17% of its gas by simply sitting in idle. So this means for every 10 gallons you purchase, 1.7 gallons are used to keep the engine running while you sit in park.

3. Keep your sunroof or windows closed. I really enjoy the sunroof on my car and it is alright to have it open if you are taking a leisurely drive around town and only traveling about 25 mph because the amount of drag will not be noticeable to your fuel consumption. But the amount of drag placed on your vehicle at highway speeds (55 mph or more), an open sunroof may reduce your fuel economy by 5%. Same thing will apply to your windows being open but they do not have quite as much impact as the sunroof. Avoid buying cars with spoilers on them or having one put on your car simply to trick it out. The basic function of a spoiler is to add downforce to your car to help improve handling at high speeds, so naturally having a spoiler will hurt your fuel economy. This also applies to roof racks and any type of carrier on the top of your car.

4. Remove any excess weight you have on your vehicle. Avoid keeping unnecessary items in your vehicle, especially heavy ones. An extra 100 pounds in your vehicle could reduce your MPG by up to 2%. The reduction is based on the percentage of extra weight relative to the vehicle's weight and affects smaller vehicles more than larger ones.

5. When highway driving try to use your cruise control. Using cruise control on the highway helps you maintain a constant speed and, in most cases, will save on your fuel consumption.

6. When driving up hill accelerate before you reach the incline. Think ahead when approaching hills. If you accelerate, do it before you reach the hill, not while you're on it. This will also increase your mpg.

7. Avoid driving on gravel or rough roads if at all possible. Dirt or gravel roads can rob you of up to 30% of your gas mileage.

8. Try to stay away from curving or winding roads. Compare traveling distance differences - remember that corners, curves and lane jumping require extra gas. The shortest distance between two points is always straight

9. Try to park your car so you can leave in a forward position. Avoiding reverse gear maneuvers will save on your fuel mileage.

Questions Rising Concerning Spending Of Funds By The Mayor And The New York City Schools

Mayor Michael Bloomberg and New York City schools Chancellor Joel Klein, together, have made sweeping changes within the New York City schools. Yet, many are questioning their intentions and spending of funds.

Creating smaller class sizes, especially in the elementary grades, has long been a priority of most parents, teachers and advocates in New York City. Many states and cities have passed laws requiring smaller classrooms, such as the state of Florida.

Studies have repeatedly shown that smaller classrooms improve student achievement, reduce teacher attrition, decrease student disciplinary problems, and increase parent involvement. They have proved especially effective for the elementary grades, but smaller classrooms in high schools are believed to reduce dropout rates, as well.

Today, the New York City schools classrooms are the largest ones in the state. The Court of Appeals ruled in the Campaign for Fiscal Equity case that class sizes in the New York City schools were too large to provide students their constitutional right to an adequate education. The public is complaining that the mayor only plans to spend two percent of the money received from the lawsuit toward reducing class sizes within the New York City schools; yet, he plans to spend ten times as much on more school administrators and specialists.

According to the Gotham Gazette, the mayor and Klein are undermining the reduction of classroom size in six major ways:

Ignoring State Law Since 1999, over $500 million has been given to the New York City schools by the state to cut class size. According to an audit released in March by State Comptroller Alan Hevesi, only 20 extra classes in kindergarten through third grade were created as of last year, compared to the 1,586 classes the New York City schools officials said had been formed.

The audit also showed that officials had sharply cut back the number of K-3 classes by almost 900 over the last four years. Classes should now be 19.1 students per class; however, they remain with 65 percent of the students in classes with 21 students or more, and 26 percent in classes with 25 students or more.

Not Allowing Voters to Decide Over 100,000 New Yorkers signed petitions last year to put an amendment on the ballot that would require a minimum of 25 percent of funds owed the New York City schools from the lawsuit be spent on class size reduction. New York City schools officials blocked the proposal, stating it was improper, since the New York City schools are under the authority of the state and do not have to comply with city laws. Many voters and advocate groups are contesting.

Fewer New Classroom Seats Are Being Created Reporter Leonie Haimson believes the city is in danger of creating more seats in new stadiums than in New York City schools during Bloombergs administration. The following are the number of new seats added, according to the Mayors Management Report:

* 22,267 seats in fiscal year 2003,
* 12,921 in 2004,
* 8,631 in 2005,
* 4,287 in 2006, and
* 204 thus far, this year.

Yet, all five boroughs are experiencing a development boom in their neighborhoods. In other major cities across the country, developers are being required to provide schools and other community needs as part of their development projects. New York City has no such requirement. Therefore, there are fewer seats with no expectation of more being added, even though development is increasing.

No School Plans for Governors Island When the mayor was elected in 2001, he pledged to put a major high school and university on the island, which has current facilities sitting vacant that once were used as classrooms. According to Gazette sources, no one is discussing a plan for a school in that location, and the Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation has been told to maximize the islands profit-making potential. A new high school on the island would have relieved a lot of overcrowding in the other secondary New York City schools.

More Charter Schools Being Created The mayor plans to create up to 100 new charter schools, and the New York City schools capital plan calls for 74 percent of them to be put into existing New York City schools buildings. With new charter schools taking currently used New York City schools classroom space that means more overcrowding and larger classrooms for the New York City schools.

New Administrative Positions The creation of new administrative positions within the New York City schools has exploded since the mayor was elected. The city comptroller found in 2005 that the New York City schools had lost over 2,000 teachers without replacement within two years, further crowding more students into each classroom. The Educational Priorities Panel recently found that the amount of money devoted to instruction had steadily declined during the first four years of the mayors administration. Meanwhile, the number of new administrative positions has escalated, with only a slight decline in administrators at the district level.

The publics concerns over classroom size are growing, as the mayor and Klein appear to be focusing on other concerns for the New York City schools.

High Standards and Hypocrisy: Avoiding the Trap of a Divided Life

Nor hidden
Which shall not be known;
Wherefore whatever in the darkness ye said,
In the light shall be heard;
And what in the ear ye spoke in chambers,
Shall be proclaimed upon housetops.

If in life you do anything differently than other people--if you hold to higher standards, or pursue unusual interests, or dare to walk the road less-traveled--you have probably felt the peculiar tension that comes of sharing an hour or more with someone whose opinions about your way of life differ from yours. Sometimes such interaction is positive; sometimes it is a powder keg, with all sorts of dangerous contingencies should it explode.

So it was with interest I saw that Jesus, when He was speaking to a crowd, was invited to dine with a Pharisee--and that He accepted. To eat with someone is to make yourself vulnerable to them: you set yourself on intimacy for a period of time.

Trouble reared its head quickly enough. As they sat down to dinner, the Pharisee marveled--out loud, perhaps--that Jesus had not observed the ritual of washing before dinner. Expectations flared to ugly prominence: the Pharisee knew that Jesus was a religious teacher and miracle-worker, therefore, he ascribed to Him a whole set of outward behaviours which, in the opinion of the religious leaders, bespoke righteousness.

In His response, Jesus did not exactly pull any punches. Did the Pharisee think Him unclean because He had failed to cleanse His hands? He was a fool... a hidden tomb... a man upon whom woe would soon come. "Did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?" Jesus asked.

Why then do you concern yourself with cleaning the outside when your heart is still filthy?

"But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. Woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them."

The dinner had sharp consequences. Not only the Pharisee, but many other influential men who were present took high offense at Jesus' words. From then on, Luke records, they "lay wait for him," deliberately provoking Him again and again; seeking for some word they could use to destroy Him.

But Jesus had more to say: this time to His disciples. The Pharisees were men who walked a different road, ostensibly following after God. Jesus' disciples were also choosing an unusual road, and were susceptible to the same traps that had taken the religious leaders.

Jesus gathered His disciples around Him and said, "Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known. Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops. And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him."

Leaven was an old picture of sin: it is the little thing that ruins the whole. Hypocrisy had ruined the Pharisees, and Jesus warned His disciples not to let it enter into their lives.

It is a warning just as pertinent to us, today: everyone who chooses to walk an unusual road will be vulnerable to the snare of hypocrisy.

Just what is hypocrisy? Put simply, hypocrisy is the loss of the heart.

Look at the example Jesus used in the house of the Pharisees. The law commanded Israel to tithe their income, and the Pharisees did this--scrupulously. In fact, they tithed even the tiniest parts of their income: spices. This outward ritual had become extremely important to them. They measured their own spirituality by it, and by things like washing their hands before meals. But somewhere they had lost the heart of the law. They "passed over judgment and the love of God." They did not care for the poor with the rest of their riches, nor did they love God at all. Rather, they loved the accolades of men, and the smug sense of their own righteousness.

They had lost heart; every true thing in them had died; and they remained as white-washed tombs. This is the snare of hypocrisy. Attending only to the outward, they could never become pure. Attending only to the expectations of men, they could never see God.

What causes hypocrisy?

Hypocrisy is chiefly born of response to others. In some cases, as Jesus pointed out when He accused the Pharisees of "loving the uppermost seat, and greetings in the market," it comes of desiring man's respect. We love to be looked up to; others tell us we are holy, and we partially believe them. And so we begin to tune our behaviour in order to draw a certain sound that will make others take note.

Hypocrisy is often born of judgement. We may not start out as judgemental people: if we are living differently, we will need to defend our behaviour, to examine it, to solidify our convictions and seek God wholly. The tragedy comes when our convictions turn into condemnations: when we turn our eyes from God to men. Before long our lives are all about our convictions; the whole point of living is to uphold an outward standard. The heart is lost, and before long we no longer love mercy, or judgement, or God Himself--we love only our shiny outer shells.

Finally, hypocrisy is born of fear. We often view hypocrisy as characterized by speaking one thing and doing another; sometimes it is a matter of holding silent and letting our actions proclaim false allegiances. Jesus' boldness--His absolute lack of hypocrisy--in the Pharisee's house brought Him into serious trouble. Thus, He urged His disciples not to fear those whose power is only temporal, but to live their lives in relation to Him who is eternal. If we truly live what is in our hearts we may face persecution, but it is not worth backing out.

In any case, Jesus tells us, nothing is truly hidden. We may think we are keeping ourselves safe, but what we have spoken in the ear will be proclaimed on the housetops one day. We may think, conversely, that we are keeping up a beautiful image: but the sham will be uncovered. A terrifying prospect for those whose lives are marked by inconsistency.

If I would not be a hypocrite, I must keep my heart alive. I must seek God, and love Him, and confess my sins: walk in the light, as He is in the light. When my walk comes out of my heart, I will live a consistent life--not a perfect one, not one without failures and sins--but one that is ultimately consistent with my love for God. I will fear God, and learn to fear man less with every day.

I write about hypocrisy because I, like the Pharisees and like Jesus' fledgling disciples, am so susceptible to it. God has called me to forge out a life that is different from others, that stands in contrast with so much in our culture. And the danger is ever-present that I will fixate on the various responses of men, and somewhere the heart will be lost. I don't date, I don't drink, I don't watch TV; I strive to make good use of my gifts; I look, talk, and act differently than most girls my age.

There are days when I wake up and realize that I have been tithing the smallest parts of my life, and passing over mercy, over judgement--over love.

God's blessings on you, my whole-hearted companions; may you overcome your fears in Him, and press on in love for the God who bought you.

A Profitable Web 2.0 Project Developed In 24 Hours?

It took seven months to get the One Million Masterpiece charity project online. The site is complex and needed the development time, but in the last few days Ive had a yearning to see if I can still turn around a project in 24 hours. Back in the early days of the Internet boom Id sit in my bedroom and knock out html websites all night long, but almost ten years on, can it still be done in a time where profitability and interactivity are the key measures?

So, its 7am and Ive got a plan. The new pressures I face in life (work responsibilities, family etc) have been dealt with and I have a clear 24 hours ahead of me. An idea for a site has been kicking round in my head ever since I sold a site last year. This site was a very specialist software comparison site that generated referral commissions and Adsense income. It was an excellent earner and Ive wanted to recreate that success, but on a larger scale.

So last year I bought the domain http://www.shoutdown.net with the intention of building a software comparison style project. I want the site to be in the informal blog style, where the posts are product summaries (written by me), and the comments would be reviews submitted by other people. Id also throw in a rating system, and way of attaching news releases or other relevant pages to each product post, plus link related posts (for example different versions of the same software).

So the idea is there, its 7:30am and my first job is to select some mp3s to get me through to lunch. Here goes

By the time Ive chosen my music, switched off my Google desktop bar and responded to essential email its already 8am crap. So, first job is drawing out a schematic of the database that will power my site. What information do I want to keep and how will I organise it? Im having five database tables. For ease Im calling them level1, level2, level3 etc because I see them as levels of information about each software product the top being category information and the bottom being the reviews and ratings.

Took me quite a while to get the structure clear, but now Im sketching out the homepage on paper. Ive looked at a few blogs that I like and have basically copied their layout for ease. Ive also worked out the sizing of my main columns and rows and know the positions of the adverts, main blog posts and navigation. I still like to work on paper at this stage Im an artist at heart!

OK lets get on the computer. Ive fired up Paint Shop Pro and my first job is to work out a colour pallet. I want three colours, so I blob different combinations on a blank white image until I get the right combination orange, purple and grey. I then make a note of the hex codes for each colour on a post-it this will save LOADS of time later. While Im in PSP Im going to mock up a logo as I already know the size of image I need from my plan. Actually I really like the logo so it will probably be permanent.

Time to start on the site. Im using a single html page at the moment with a linked css file. Using some basic tables and css Ive laid out the top bar, the post area and two columns (one for ads and one for navigation). Im sticking to a tried and tested blog layout.

I always use Dreamweaver, but always hand code. Why use Dreamweaver then? Well, I find the preview quite accurate, but other than that I have no idea just habit.

Ive just finished the main site layout, including place holding text that will eventually be dynamic. Ive left space for some ads on the site, so Ive justed logged in to Adsense to generate the code. All I need to do is use the colours on my post-it to get them fitting in nicely. Ill also take a look round for some other nice banners in my affiliate accounts.

OK time to fill up my database with some data, then I can start writing the php that will populate the pages. Im going to sign up for a few software affiliate accounts and write some sample reviews on the software. At the moment I havent got time to write really good reviews, but in time I intend to fully try each title and write some good stuff (positive and negative). For now Ill be brief.

This isnt working. Ive got a very limited knowledge of php so Im having trouble dynamically generating category headings and software lists dynamically. Its taking too long to sort out so for now Im going to simply print a list of all software titles in the database. Ill make up for it by also providing a list of software categories, plus a list of the most reviewed software.

Im going to split up my single html page now into a header, body, nav and footer, and use a php include to pull the pages together. In total I will only need three main template pages for the content of this site the homepage, a category page and a product page.

Ive finished the layout of the three pages, including all the code that pulls info from the database. Everythings working pretty well and Im please with the simplicity. My next job is to create an rss feed of the posts and reviews, but first I need some DINNER!

After some pasta and tv Im ready for this rss feed. Its pretty easy to create a php page that will pull the necessary code and place it in the rss 2.0 layout. Once Im done Ill just save the php file as xml and ensure that my .htaccess file remembers to parse xml files for php code.

I checked that the rss feed was valid using a standard validator. It took a little time to sort out the date formatting to be honest.

Ive been developing using Firefox to test the layout, but I just checked the site in IE and noticed the background colour was dodgy. It was a css error fixed.

OK back to content. The reviews at the moment are boring so Im going to add some images and expand them a little. Im also going to add some reviews that Ive been collecting over the last few months. The good thing about buying the domain and posting up a test website for six months is that the search engines have already crawled the site, and hopefully will help me avoid the Google sandbox.

Im absolutely knackered. Ive just spent the last few hours trying to get the navigation system working but with no luck. The problem is that Im trying to dynamically generate an information tree (apparently thats what its called after much research) but I just cant get it working. Im giving up.

OK, Ive just created a rating system which will only accept one software vote per IP address. Seems a bit buggy but I really really tired and cant be bothered to go through it again now.

So whats left to do? I need to create forms to input reviews, news and bookmarks but Im just too tired to continue. So much for 24 hours, but actually Im really pleased with the result. On the surface the site looks like any other blog, and you might question why I decided to hand code the entire thing. Well, I have some ideas for some advanced functions, but Ill only be able to implement them if I know the site inside out. Plus I just like the challenge.

I wont have time to work on the site all week, but Im already planning my next 24 hour session marketing. Ill be sure to keep you updated on that, and how the site is doing generally!

It was the decade of decadence. It was about glitz and glamour as well as baubles, bangles, and beads.

Everyone loved Luke and Laura in the afternoon. Lady Diane became the People's Princess when she married Prince Charles. Nighttime soaps like Dallas and Dynasty ruled the airwaves. President Ronald Reagan ruled the United States. Tom Cruise felt the need for speed. Michael Milliken was the Junk Bond King. Gordon Gekko taught Wall Street whiz kids that greed was good. Material Girl Madonna made her musical debut.

What decade was it?

We can only be talking about that terrific time period the excellent eighties.

Here are twenty-one ways for you to verify that you belong to (or belong in) the 1980's.

1. Breakdancing on the sidewalk looked like fun. Now it just looks like you might break something.

2. You can still recite dialogue from any movie starring Molly Ringwald.

3. "Cell phones" meant the telephone people used when they got their "one phone call" in jail.

4. You had at least one of the following: a Cabbage Patch Kid, He-Man action figures, a Rubik's Cube, or something with a Pac-Man logo on it.

The Andy Griffith Show (Season 4) DVD Review

One of the most beloved shows in television history, The Andy Griffith Show takes its viewers back to a simpler time of small town America, apple pie, and black and white television The trademark whistling theme song is one of the most recognizable in history, and the duration of the show in syndicated reruns is unrivaled by its peers. The Andy Griffith Show follows the exploits of the small town of Mayberry and its family values, no nonsense sheriff Andy. Widowed, and father to a small boy named Opie (Ron Howard), Andy is joined in Mayberry by his sidekick Deputy Barney Fife, his relative and housekeeper Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier), and a host of other eccentric characters.

But the show stealer is Barney Fife (Don Knotts) who plays the role of a sometimes incompetent, kooky deputy always in over his head. The onscreen dynamic between Griffith and Knotts is truly magical. Watering The Greenhouse

Watering is one of the most tedious tasks with greenhouse gardening, as these types of indoor gardens require much more water. Watering your greenhouse improperly could cause you to lose your crops. This article will help you to learn ways to make your daily chore much easier while fabulously reaping the benefits.

When To Water

Its always best to water your plants in the evening, rather than during the hot daytime hours.

Plants made up of soil-less composts, need more water because they get dry more quickly.

The best way to kill your plants is to water them simply out of routine of doing it. Make sure not to over-water them, but at the same time, assure that they have the amount of moisture that they need.

Larger and more mature plants need more water than young new plants. Take care to take the proper measures to water them accordingly. When your older plants start drooping, it may be time to take out the watering can!

The plants in your greenhouse will require less water during the dormant season of the coldest weather usually in December and January.

Keeping the floor wet in your greenhouse in the very hot summer days, will help to keep moisture in the air for your crops.

Hand-Watering

At times it may be hard to predict the amount of moisture that is in a plant pot, especially if it has a lot of peat-based compost. Try pressing your fingers gently into the top of the soil mixture inside of the pot.

Another way to guess the level of moisture is to use moisture indicators in a few select pots.

Larger plants that have been established for some time will benefit most with less forceful watering. This can be accomplished by breaking the force of the water dispersing from the watering can. Sometimes a small piece of cloth will do the trick. Small seeds definitely need to be watered with a very gentle spray. This can be done by pointing the rose of the watering can in an upward motion.

Hand-watering is still the most dominant method of greenhouse garden irrigation, even in todays competitive markets. After frequent crop losses however, many growers are realizing that it may be time to change their traditional ways.

Overhead Spraying

Many of us prefer to have a spray mechanism when watering the greenhouse garden. It is possible to purchase several different designs of tubing that can be suspended overhead from the roof of your greenhouse. Some water spraying systems will spray in two-sided directions; others will spray water to only one side. You will have to select the type of tube design that you need and prefer.

Improvising

Although it is possible to buy specially designed systems with reservoirs, you can improvise to save money. This way works wonderfully. San Diego Schools Choice Program Means More Opportunities For Students But More Work For Parents

More than one-third of the students in the San Diego schools were enrolled in the Choice Program for the 2005-2006 school year. The program gives parents the ability to transfer their children from their assigned school to one that offers more academic opportunities or specific school attributes. The program offers six methods of eligibility.

Program Improvement School Choice. Children assigned to San Diego schools that have failed the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) academic standards may apply to better-ranked San Diego schools. Students applying for transfer under this program generally receive a higher priority than others and receive free transportation. If in the future the assigned San Diego schools pass the NCLB standards, parents may choose to move their children back to the assigned schools or continue in the new schools.

Magnet Schools Program. These San Diego schools are each based upon a theme, such as performing arts, with the curriculum centered around it. Though they provide all the state required basics, students can immerse themselves in the particular subject; whereas in other schools, the theme may only be offered as an elective class or two. Magnet schools are designed to attract a diverse cross section of students from throughout the city. Free transportation is provided to students who live outside a specific mileage range. Acceptance priority is given based upon:

Demographics they encourage San Diego schools students living in demographic areas different from where the Magnet School is located to apply,

Continuity San Diego schools students in a performing arts elementary school, for example, would be given acceptance priority when applying to a performing arts middle and high school,

Siblings San Diego schools students with brothers or sisters already enrolled in the school are given priority,

Program Improvement receives a lower priority than the others listed above, and

General Applications receives the lowest priority.

Voluntary Ethnic Enrollment Program (VEEP). VEEP was designed to provide a better racial and cultural integrated, educational experience in the San Diego schools. Predominantly Caucasian-populated schools are paired with minority schools for the program. Most transfer students receive free transportation.

Choice Program. Any San Diego schools student is eligible to apply to any school not in the Magnet program. Acceptance is based solely on the space available, and transportation is the parents responsibility.

Inter-District Transfer Program. Any student with the state may apply to any school within the San Diego schools. Like the Choice Program, acceptance is based solely on the space available, and transportation is the parents responsibility.

Charter Schools Program. These independent schools within the San Diego schools are on space available only and often use a random lottery for application acceptance. Some require that the students applying meet specific criteria. If you are interested in transferring your child to a Charter School, inquire early they set their own application deadlines.

If you find that your child does not meet any of these criteria or their acceptance priority would be low, there are two other methods of gaining transfer acceptance that are not part of the overall Choice Program. They are through special request and the Gifted and Talented Education Program (GATE). You may submit a special request to the San Diego schools, when your childs assigned school does not offer specific coursework. These requests are handled on a case-by-case basis. If the GATE program is not offered in your childs assigned school and your child qualifies, again you may request a transfer to a school that does.

Other than in the Charter Schools, applications to San Diego schools by March 15th for the following school year are given priority.

Though the Choice Program offers a great opportunity to all San Diego schools students, there are a lot of choices. With 212 public schools, including the 31 Magnet Schools and 35 Charter Schools, investigating the schools and their offerings can be overwhelming and time consuming for the parents.

San Diego schools officials offer the following advice:

All schools offer the required basic coursework, so do not get caught up in only one school will do look at the many other schools, too;

Look beyond test scores schools have a lot more to offer, such as specialized education programs;

Visit the school campus what looks good on paper may be different in reality, sometimes better and sometimes worse;

Talk to parents and educators at the school, find out first-hand; and

Ask if they offer parent seminars and tours before the application deadline.

If you are interested in applying for a transfer to any of the San Diego schools, begin early, list the criteria you wish to be provided by the school, look at all the available schools, choose those that seem to fit your requirements, and then thoroughly investigate each one. It is a lot of homework for the parents, but it can be the best foundation they can give their children.

How To Write a Resignation Letter

It is resignation time. The time has come to move on from the present job. The time to reach out for a writing pad and draft out the resignation letter. So what do you do? Should you give a list of reasons why you are leaving? Should you feel guilty about leaving your team and the organization in a lurch? Should you give a list of reasons about how badly you were treated? Should you get sentimental and list out all that you gained and how wonderful it was?

The ideal resignation letter is the one that is the shortest, to the point. Give the date of resignation and enquire when the organization could let you go. The more detail you go into the more explanations follow. Giving reasons for leaving could be open to all kinds of misinterpretations, so a simple I would like to resign from the post of xx as on this date would do. There is no need to feel guilty about leaving the organization in a lurch because it is a professional relationship and just as you have a right to your career opportunities, the organization also has a right to throw you out when it does not need you. So there is really no need to feel guilt. But yes, if the job requires that you train someone else or to finish something that you have begun, it is only fair that you complete that part. If you are quitting due to some bad experiences, it is not a great idea to put that on paper because then the organization might get wary about your motives and stall the process. Just as well there is no need to get all sentimental about the organization because if for some reason you have to sue the employer, your letter will make it rather difficult to prove that you had a difficult time in the organization.

All these issues point out in one direction. When it comes to the resignation letter, keep it simple and straight, courteous and formal. Add a touch of gratitude because it always pays to be grateful. And most importantly keep it in mind that you may have to seek a reference from your ex-employers at some point of time in the future.

In other words, he has hedged his position against any short term fluctuations his equity position may experience.

Writing covered call options provide many benefits with the major reason being collecting premium from the sale of such an option. The premium collected goes into your account and can then be used to invest in other positions. The writer keeps the premium regardless of whether or not the option is exercised. The Dukes Of Hazzard (Season 3) DVD Review

In the late 70's and early 80's, television viewers fell in love with The Dukes Of Hazzard, a weekly foray into the fictional setting of Hazzard County, Georgia. Cousins Bo and Luke Duke (John Schneider and Tom Wopat) spent each episode trying to do good, while the loveable Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke) concocted various schemes for making money and having the Duke boys, who always foiled his plans, thrown in jail for violating their probation (the result of a deal with the federal government to end the centuries-old Duke family tradition of bootlegging).

Joining Bo and Luke are their Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle), a grandfatherly figure who owns the family farm, and Cousin Daisy (Catherine Bach), whose skimpy shorts coined the cultural term daisy dukes. Along with Crazy Cooter (Ben Jones), the local mechanic, they create a formidable threat to the money-making shenanigans of Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (James Best) and the owner of seemingly every business entity in Hazzard County, J.D. Boss Hogg. But critics will argue that the true star of the show was the General Lee, Bo and Lukes bright orange Dodge race car with the Confederate flag pasted on its roof

The Dukes Of Hazzard (Season 3) DVD provides a number of famous episodes, including guest appearances by musicians Tammy Wynette, Roy Orbison, and The Oak Ridge Boys. Sheriff Little of Chickasaw County (Don Pedro Colley) makes the first of many appearances in Season 3.
